Drums



   These mark the time and signal changes in tempo and dynamics, as well as musical transitions, repeats, and endings. The drummer fufills a function similar to those of a conductor of a Western orchestra.





Kendang Batangan

Kendang Gending
This is the largest of the drums and is about 28 inches long and 15 inches across. It can be used alone or together with the ketipung.




Ketipung
This is the smallest of the drums at 18 inches long and nine inches across.
