This is similar to a xylophone with thick, heavy metal keys mounted on a low, wooden frame. The largest of the saron family, it is about 36 inches long.
The thin, bronze keys of this instrument, which are the largest of the gender family, are suspended over tube resonators. It is approximately 30 inches long .
